If you want to enjoy the autumn leaves, there are relatively few slopes, so you can enjoy it as if you were just taking a stroll.
If you want to approach Mt. Hongu directly, you will need to be prepared accordingly.
The boardwalk is well-formed but not paved, and at least sneakers are required.
The maples are planted in clusters like in Korankei, so they don't look compact, and it feels like you can enjoy the autumn leaves in nature.
It was too late after 3pm. .
The leaves had already fallen and the weather was cloudy, so the temperature was low and cold.
Perhaps if you went in the morning there would have been a little more sunshine and it would have been more beautiful.
I felt like there was a lot of green in the autumn leaves this year, and although it's hard to walk because the feet are rocky and rough, it's a good place to take a walk as it's full of nature and there's a river.
It's very soothing. It's nice to take a walk in autumn.
I wasn't expecting much since it was dark so it would only be in the shade, but there were many autumn leaves illuminated by the sun and it was beautiful.
It took us over 3 hours to reach the summit of Mt. Hongu while taking photos of the autumn leaves and the eight scenic views. (Use the shortcut at the top of the fork in the steep slope)
After lunch, we spent an hour and a half visiting shrines near the mountaintop.
The return trip took less than 2 hours as I continued downhill, avoiding steep shortcuts.
There is a gravel road the width of a road leading to the top, so I think anyone can climb it as long as they have the physical strength and time. (Children in 3rd or 4th grade were also climbing the mountain.)
I went halfway, but from the Shinjo side it looks like a mountain trail with steep stairs.
I was lucky to have a magical waterfall this fall. (Maybe it happens every year)
I went during the autumn leaves season.
There are no extreme traffic jams.
I was able to enjoy the autumn leaves.
On this day, we aimed for the summit of Mt. Hongu from the Kurogari Valley side. The hiking course has an easy-to-understand route and well-maintained footing, so I think it's a very easy trail for beginners and children alike. However, it takes just under 2 hours to reach the top of the mountain one way, so if you just want to walk for a short amount of time, I think it would be better to turn around at the camp facility.
The autumn leaves in Kuragari Valley were very beautiful, and the leaves of the maple and ginkgo trees that stood out against the sky and mountains were vivid and moving. I was also healed by the background music of the murmuring of the river flowing there. It is a little-known spot where you can enjoy autumn foliage viewing in a leisurely manner, with far fewer people than Asuke, a famous autumn foliage viewing spot in Toyota City that is crowded every year.
